As a devout Rastafarian, Bob Marley believed that any alteration of the body is sinful  and turned down doctors’ advice to have his toe amputated. Despite his illness, he continued touring and was in the process of scheduling a world tour in 1980.

Three Great Bob Marley Quotes Explained

Bob Marley is one of the most influential peoples every lived on this earth. He has given number of great blockbuster hits to the reggae music industry. “No women no cry” “legend” “sound rebels” “African herbsman” and “catch a fore” are few of his albums that had rocked the nation and made reggae music world popular. Bob Marley Quotes are derived from his speeches, conversations and from his sings. His Quotes are as influential as he was. Here are my favorite three Bob Marley Quotes explained.

1- Don’t gain the world and lose your soul. Wisdom is better than silver or gold.

Today, we are living in an age where we have forgotten the meaning of life. We are becoming a money minting machine. It seems as if our only purpose In life to earn more and more and some more money. Money has become our primary motive of life. In doing so, we have lost touch with humanity. We have lost touch with things that matters the most in our life. We have lost our soul. Why? Just for the sake of money. Of course, money is important, for one can’t survive without it. But money should not be our primary motive. Our primary motive of life is to develop our personality, gain wisdom and contribute in helping mankind to such an extent that we remain alive in the heart of others even after we die.

2- None but ourselves can free our minds.

It’s only and only you who decides what kind of thoughts you want to let enter into your mind. Every thing is in your hands. But too often, we tend to look for outer resources to get rid of mental clutter of our mind. We read self-help books, listen to motivational speeches, and want someone to help us. But it doesn’t help a little bit. Doing so, in fact, increases the level of tension even more. So don’t depend on anyone. Just listen to your inner voice. None but only you can free your mind.

3- In the abundance of water, the fool is thirsty.

True, indeed. Today, we have everything around us needed to get success. This is 21st century. Everything is lightening fast. We have e-mail, fax to stay connected with the world. We have internet to get all t e information with a click of button. We have TV to get live information from any corner of the world. We have airplanes, helicopters to travel into any corner of the world within minutes. We have everything needed to live happy and satisfied life. We just need to get out of our comfort zone and use them to get what we want in life.
